Last fall the voters approved a $22 million dollar bond to build a state of the art shelter for Pima County. The County has contracted with the architectural firm Line and Space to design the facility.
Line and Space is a local firm with examples of their work at the Sonoran Desert Museum and the University of Arizona. In order to bring in the specific expertise required for an animal shelter they are collaborating with UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program and a Colorado architectural firm Animal Arts Design who specialize in building veterinary hospitals and animals shelters.
On Thursday July 23rd Lina and Space is holding a public forum for the public to provide input on the shelter design. The forum will be from 6pm to 7:30pm at the Abrams Public Health Center, 3950 S. Country Club (at Ajo). RSVP not required.
